Denims
Denim fabric originated in 17th century France in a town called Nimes and was called “serge de Nimes.” Later shortened to denim, it was a twill cloth made of wool and silk which gained popularity in the United States towards the end of the 19th century (albeit in cotton) when a sturdy cloth was needed for ranchers and miners.
A sturdy classic, denim wears like a dependable and rugged friend.
Denim comes in many weights and colors, though the traditional indigo remains a favorite. Usually made of 100% cotton, some iterations are blended with other fibers such as hemp to produce a more fluid fabric. Spandex is often added for wearing comfort. Used for jeans, jackets, dresses and shirts. Come see our offerings!

Singing the blues! 12 oz denim is very sturdy and somewhat stiff before washing. The 6 oz. version is softer with a fluid hand.
